Who is behind it all?

Tartu Student Days is organised by the University Culture Club — people who create events, experiences and communities throughout the year.

How did it all begin?

1960s

The tradition begins

Students begin organising autumn events for other students, inspired by International Students' Day.

1989

The first autumn festival

Ten events bring thousands of participants together and a lasting festival tradition takes shape.

2002

Villem is born

The iconic Student Days dog makes its first appearance on the streets of Tartu.

Today

The story continues

Every new organising team adds its own ideas, people and energy to the festival.
